Participation at UDM 2025: Advancing Data-Driven Urban Water Quality Modelling
On September 15-19, 2025, partners of the EU-funded Urban M2O project actively promoted the initiative at the 13th Urban Drainage Modelling Conference (UDM 2025), hosted by the University of Innsbruck.
Given that data and modelling lie at the core of Urban M2O, participation in UDM 2025 provided a strategic opportunity to engage with the international research community, exchange ideas, and identify new collaborators for the project’s four-year research programme.
Urban M2O contributions at the conference included:
-
A poster titled “Integrated modelling solutions for data-driven holistic management of urban water quality – the Urban M2O digital tools”, showcasing the project’s integrated digital approach.
-
A scientific presentation, “A Blind Dive into the Unknown: Water Quality without Metadata”, delivered within the JCUD Emerging Contaminants Working Group, addressing critical challenges in data availability and quality.
A special highlight of the event was the inclusion of the Urban M2O logo in Professor Wolfgang Rauch’s farewell lecture, marking his continued contribution to the development of Digital Urban Water Twins within the project.
Urban M2O’s presence at UDM 2025 reinforced its commitment to cutting-edge modelling, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovation, supporting the future of data-driven urban water quality management.
